During the dark days of the early 1940's a covert US military experiment turned him into Americas first Super-Soldier, Captain America. Throughout the war, Cap and his partner Bucky (James Buchanan Barnes) fought alongside infantry and with a group of heroes known as the Invaders. In the closing months of World War II, Captain America and Bucky were both presumed dead in an explosion. Decades later, Captain America was found trapped in ice and revived in the modern world. He later worked with other heroes and became a member, and later leader of The Avengers.
Avengers vs X-MenEdit
Captain America attempts to apprehend Hope Summers of the X-Men. She is the targeted vessel for the Phoenix Force, a destructive cosmic entity. Captain America believes that this Phoenix Force is too dangerous to entrust in one person and seeks to prevent Hope from having it. However, Cyclops and the X-Men believe that the Phoenix Force will save their race, and oppose Captain America's wishes. The result is a series of battles that eventually take both teams to the blue area of the moon. However, the Phoenix Force eventually possesses the five X-Men present, leaving the Avengers at an extreme disadvantage. The Phoenix Five, who become corrupted by the power of the Phoenix, are eventually defeated and scattered, with Cyclops imprisoned for turning the world into a police state and murdering Charles Xavier after being pushed too far, only for him to note that, in the end, he was proven right about the Phoenix's intentions. From there Captain America proceeds to assemble a new Avengers team that would integrate human heroes with mutant heroes.
He and Wanda Maximoff went to see hope and see how she is feeling about everything that had just happened to her. She wants to have a normal life and he said that wolverine would accept her in the Jean Grey School For Highter Learning. She seemed okay with it. He and other Avengers are trying to see if Cyclops is trying to escape from prison so he asked wolverine to talk to him. They discovered that Hope had been sneaking out to find where er father Cable is. They received information that Cyclops broke out of prison and went to investigate the crime where they found a letter from cyclops that was meant for wolverine to read.
Cyclops was finally incarcerated, and Steve accepted the Avengers should've done more to help mutants, and allowed the world to hate them. As a result, he started planning a new team of Avengers in hopes of unify mutant and humankind. Captain America and Thor meet with Havok, where Captain America offers him the chance to lead a new Avengers squad. They are attacked by a lobotomized Avalanche and unite to defeat him while saving as many civilians as possible. While looking for survivors after Avalanche's attack, Wolverine questions Captain America's choice of having Havok lead the team and Thor vows to resolve the mutant conflict. He also fines out that Avalanche has commited suicide after his job was completed. He and the team continue to find out what happened on who is responsible for all of this.
Powers and AbilitiesEdit
The Super-Soldier Serum (SSS) metabolized and enhanced all of Rogers' bodily functions to the peak of human potential. Dr. Reinstein described this potential as being "the next step in human evolution", while still remaining completely human. The secret of the SSS formula was lost with Dr. Erskine's death. It grants him Peakhuman Strength, Speed, Agility, Reflexes, Durability, and a healing factor. Abilities
Master Martial Artist: Rogers is an expert in hand-to-hand combat being very skilled in multiple martial arts. His training first originated under combat experts Rex Applegate and William Fairbairn whose fields of expertise were European martial arts and Chinese martial arts during WW2. While the majority of the instructors' curriculums were simplified for training the Allied Forces, it is possible that they trained Rogers in the more complex techniques because his body was already developed for them and because the majority of his combat knowledge (including his gymnastic-based techniques) was already established prior to his awakening by the Avengers. As a result, Rogers is well versed in Boxing, Judo, Jujitsu, Historical Fencing and Wushu. It is also possible and likely that he studied more disciplines in the present after being discovered by the Avengers and working for S.H.I.E.L.D. but it has yet to be proven. He has utilized all martial arts techniques from physical combat to chi manipulation. Rogers is one of the finest martial artist earth has ever known.
Master Shield Fighter: His years of training and experience with his unique shield, as well as its physical properties, allow him to accomplish amazing feats with the item. Aside from bashing foes and blocking incoming attacks, he is able to throw it with nearly perfect aim. Rogers can hit multiple targets with the same throw by means of ricochet, and could even achieve a boomerang-like return effect, allowing him to strike enemies from behind or retrieve the shield without objects to ricochet from.
