The daughter of Sir James Braddock, a citizen of Otherworld, Elizabeth Braddock is used to inter-dimensional travel. The sister of the powerful reality altering mutant Jamie Braddock and twin to the United Kingdom's premier superhero Brian Braddock (Captain Britain), Elizabeth has been living the superhero life since her teenage years. Originally a charter pilot, Betsy took-up a modeling career, until her telepathic powers emerged and she joined S.T.R.I.K.E., the U.K.'s equivalent of the U.N.'s S.H.I.E.L.D.. After killing an alternate reality version of her twin brother, Kaptain Briton, Betsy used his suit and briefly became Captain Britain. After the assassin Slaymaster brutally beat and blinded Betsy, she was kidnapped by Spiral and Mojo and surgically given artificial eyes, restoring her sight. Naming her Psylocke, Betsy was freed from Mojo's mental control, by the New Mutants and, after fending-off and attack by Sabretooth, joined the X-Men, where she fought for the peaceful coexistence of mutants and humans. Betsy's life was changed forever after crime lord Mats'uo Tsurayaba captured her and switched her mind with the mind of his lover, Kwannon. Betsy was brainwashed into become the Lady Mandarin and learned the art of ninjitsu, but regained her free will and rejoined the X-Men. After starting a long-standing relationship with teammate Warren Worthington III, Betsy was attacked, by Sabretooth, and Warren used the Crimson Dawn to heal her, giving her a new set of powers to teleport in shadows and distancing her relationship with Warren. With her powers switching from telepathy to telekinesis, Betsy eventually joined the splinter group, X-Treme X-Men, while searching for the future-telling Destiny's diaries and was murdered by Vargas. After being resurrected by her brother Jamie, Betsy rejoined the X-Men, briefly joined the Exiles and Excalibur, and returned to the X-Men, while secretly joining the assassin squad of X-Men X-Force, renewing her relationship with Warren.
Avengers vs X-MenEdit
She was on the X-men side during the war and was with Storm and Magneto during the time when the Phoenix Five formed. When the Dark Phoenix rosed she and the Avengers fought against Cyclops and won. She and Storm were one of the only X-Men who came in after the event.
After six months, Psylocke mysteriously return back to the Jean Grey School. Outside Los Angeles, Psylocke was flying in a convertible car with Storm. Betsy tells her about X-Force, while Storm assures she doesn't want Psylocke to fall into destructive habits again. They both share a brief conversation about their past. Storm specifically ask about what happen to her with Fantomex. Psylocke clearly states that she doesn't want to talk about it. This led Betsy to remember her attempt to teach at the school didn't really work so out well. She tried to attack Quentin Quire for misuse of his power. Psylocke later had a meeting with Wolverine discussing about her actions. Logan had told her that she was impossible to work with having to change her class assignment for the third time. Due to her actions, Wolverine had to dismiss her. He tries to give Betsy some advise about reviving X-Force. Even thought Wolverine is a respectable headmaster, he can't be giving mission therefore he has to put it behind him. He later told Psylocke to read her email, where she and Storm were tasked on a mission.
While entering the air space of Los Angeles, S.H.I.E.L.D West Coast Command claims that they are unidentified or unregistered technology without proper permission from the Avenger. The organization wants them to identify themselves or prepare to be taken down immediately. After the brief message, Psylocke states a negative comment about the Avengers, while Storm provide some cover using the cloud.
Psylocke tells Storm about an e-mail she received from Puck warning about a drug dealer selling TAO, a drug that makes people susceptible to a hive mind mentality.
Psylocke and Storm meet Puck at a bar, and he leads them to an old bank from the 20’s that the drug dealer – the diva of downtown LA - uses to sell drugs and dance. Storm and Psylocke quickly realized it’s Spiral. Betsy doesn't hold back as she attacks her.
Meanwhile, Storm and Puck head to the bank vault, since it is where Spiral hides her things. Ororo and Puck find a scared little girl inside the vault, who is upset Psylocke is fighting Spiral. The little girl mentally orders the people at the club to attack Betsy.
Elsewhere in Los Angeles, Bishop finally manages to make his way back to Earth 616.
Powers and AbilitiesEdit
Psylocke is a mutant and has been reborn "better" by her brother Jamie. Her full potential was unlocked by Jean Grey from another universe. She is now an Omega-level telepath.
Telekinesis : Ability to psionically manipulate and control the physical aspects of reality. She can also move and levitate other people. While she can move objects from a distance and fly as other telekinetics do, she has shown little inclination to do either in combat situations. Shown to be capable of levitating more than 100 tons without a struggle, and can even force herself to a higher extent. She can also create telekinetic shields of various sizes and strength and she can fire mental force blasts that can “shatter mountains.” Her telekinesis is also much stronger now than it was before her death. Psylocke at first seemed to find that using her telekinesis in forceful ways was easier than in delicate ways (i.e. shattering a brick wall proving more easy than levitating a pencil across a room). However, over time she displayed further control over fine matter. (For example, turning invisible by vibrating her own molecules, keeping an atomic bomb contained, and creating a telekinetic bubble inside of a brain, & exploding said bubble)
Telekinetic Katana: Psylocke can manifest a telekinetic katana blade composed of raw psi-energy, which at its lowest intensity, functions to disrupt neural pathways and sever the bonds between molecules, and at its highest level, her katanas can slice an armored opponent and cut through the armor, but leave the attacker physically unharmed. She can also use her swords to shatter telepathic power-inhibitors imposed on others. Psylocke's telekinetic manifestations produce visible radiance in the physical world. Thus, she can use her psychic katana as a makeshift light source in areas of darkness. Her telekinetic katana is strong enough to harm other beings more powerful than herself.
Tactile Telekinesis: Uses her telekinesis to enhance her speed, strength, Agility and other fighting skills into super-human levels.
Telepathy: She possesses mental powers to affect and manipulate the minds of other sentient beings. Psylocke can read minds and communicate mentally with others over long distances. When she telepathically communicates with another person over a distance, that person often perceives her presence as a butterfly-like image bearing large eyes on its wings.
Master Martial Artist: Psylocke has been classified as a master martial artist, though the specific fighting arts she has mastered have never been revealed. Presumably, as a ninja, she is skilled in various Ninjutsu techniques such as Taijutsu and Ninja Kenpo. Even though she is known as a ninja and worked for The Hand as one, her fighting skills and techniques far surpass those of the average Hand Ninja or Crimson Dawn Undercloak. Her skills have been said to rival those of a ninja grandmaster(10th Dan level black belt or above). Psylocke has also received additional training from the Age of Apocalypse version of Sabretooth and an alternative reality version of Ogun that vastly developed her skills in this area, Psylocke is also very well versed in the use of all Ninja weapons, stealth methods, silent movement, infiltration, concealment, escape & evasion, covert methods, Ninja espionage, and Ninja acrobatics.
Master Telepathic Combatant: As a telepath, Psylocke takes advantage of her powers in a fight by reading her opponents' movements seconds before they make them, giving her the opportunity to counter-attack faster, and she can also use her telepathy to mask her presence from other people, humans and super-humans alike. She also creates telepathic illusions to distract her enemies while fighting them and as a ninja, she uses her psychic knife to incapacitate her opponents without killing them, though she has less inhibitions about doing so and will if necessary.
Advanced Telekinetic Combatant: As a telekinetic, she often uses her powers to augment her strength and speed, which made her fighting skills so strong that she was able to match and even outmatch other superhumanly strong opponents like a holographic version of Sabretooth in the Danger Room. Psylocke was also able to match Rogue’s attacks during a training session, despite the fact that Rogue had greatly enhanced speed and strength at the time.
